Guitar Chord Bible by Phil Capone
Written by Annie Kwon
Despite the fact that I lost 40% of hearing, I love music. I play musical instruments even if I don’t play them gracefully. The instrument I play the most is guitar. I taught myself how to play guitar which was not easy. But with the past experience of playing piano and learning music theory, I managed not to give up.The first thing that I wanted to with a guitar was to learn my favorite songs. Of course, I needed to learn chords before I could play songs. The hardest part of playing guitar is to change chords seamlessly and your fingers get hurt from pressing the steel strings against the fingerboard. After learning basic chords, I came across many songs that have weird chords like E#major, Fadd2 or Gb7. So it’s frustrating that I have to find a good source of all guitar chords. There are great websites for finding chords but I want to have a good book because I won’t be online 24/7.
It’s hard to find a good book for guitar chords. I did find a good one yesterday at Marshalls when I looked for a pair of shorts. It’s called “Guitar Chord Bible (Over 500 illustrated chords for rock, blues, soul, country, jazz, and classical)” by Phil Capone. Every useful chord has introduction, harmonic scales, colorful diagrams and picture of actual finger positions on the fingerboard. It has a spiral back so it’s easy to be flat. So far, I love it. It’s an awesome book especially for beginners. I can’t quite compare this book to other books because this is the only modern book I saw. The other books I saw are quite old and if I compare them, this book trumps them.
So guitar enthusiasts! Check it out! You’ll love it.
