My Camera

Written by Annie Kwon
I take pictures but not as often as I want to. I have a camera that takes great pictures and as great as it is, I don’t take advantage of it which I should. In case if you are curious what kind of camera I have, it is Olympus E-510 (E stands for Evolt, one of the series of Olympus cameras and only dSLR).
Olympus E-510 is a digital Single Lens Reflex camera and it is a great for photography hobbyists or beginners who want to take serious photographs. The professional photographers use it, too, when they show their collection of work at RIT sometimes. It came out in three years ago (March 2007). It is the first digital SLR camera that is equipped image stabilization in the body whereas traditionally, image stabilization is built in the lens. It has Live View which is great for night vision and odd angles. It has Supersonic Wave Filter dust reduction system so it eliminates the problem of the dust accumulation over the image sensor.
The Olympus dSLR cameras at professional level E-1 or E-3. If you want to capture the high speed motion, then you might want to consider E-100RS (RS stands for rapid shot). As for the intermediate level, you can go with E-30 or E-620. If you want to have a professional camera, I suggest you go with E-3 because it has really good auto focus and it’s weather proof. The great thing about image stabilization in the body that it can go with any lenses and you don’t need to pay extra money for lenses with image stabilization feature.
Olympus is from Japan like Nikon and Canon so you know it’s good. Olympus is great with innovative design but when it comes to consumer competition, Olympus has come a great length to catch up with Canon and Nikon.
