Starting Off Monday

Posted by: Annie K.

Like, OMG! Today is, like, going to be a swell day!

If there is a day of the week that I dread the most is the day when I have the most activities all in one day or really long hours of few activities. It’s called a “long day” and I certainly most don’t like it especially when it interrupts my regular routine. Last term at my school, Monday was my long day and I dreaded waking up from the Sunday slumber into the Monday morning. That was when every homework and project is due. That was when I have classes and work from 10am to 10pm straight with 2 hours of break in between. It was very tiring. This term, it’s Tuesday from 7:30am to 8pm. That’s even worse.

My point is that starting off a new day in a week before you go to school or your job in a positive attitude is a key to having a good day. My friend told me her stories how she experimented with herself to see how to have a good day. She said that thinking positively; that each day is new and today is going to be a good day, her day actually does go well even if something crappy get in her way.  If she thinks that today is going to suck because of all the things that she have to do, then today is going to suck even if something good happens.  So having a positive thinking and attitude will actually help you get through a long day and it will end good. It’s healthier that way, too!

That’s what I’m going to do this term. On Tuesday morning, I’m going to wake up and say, “Today is going to be a good day even though I still have homework to finish before it’s due in three hours. But it’ll get done!”  Then have a good breakfast and brief wash-up before I walk merrily to campus before 7:30am.  Let’s see how it goes.

Why don’t you try it? Have you tried like this before? Tell us what you think.
