Dreaming of Being a Police Officer

In Pennsylvania, there is a Deaf man named Bill Furman, but he can speak. He is working as a Parking and Animal Control officer, but he wants to become a police officer. He is supposed to move on in the academy to become a police officer because he has passed his physical exams, but Act 120 says that you can’t wear a hearing aid when qualifying. The State Police tells him that it’s against the law because he’s wearing his hearing aids. He is disappointed and says that his hearing aids are no different than police officers who wear glasses to see better. It is against the Disabilities Act. He is going to court for justice. They hope that it’ll work out.
