Swim-Proof Hearing Aids

Written by Annie Kwon

Do you wish, sometimes, that your hearing aids are water-proof? Because when water leaks in, the hearing aids don’t work anymore. Sometimes, you forget to take off your hearing aids off when you go shower. Sometimes, you have the urge to swim without thinking to take your hearing aids off before you go. Most of the time, you play sports and you want to keep hearing aids on because you want to hear what’s going on around you to ensure your best performance. Having moisture in your hearing aids are dangerous because they’re really expensive to afford.

Now, the hearing aids manufacturer are attempting to make water-proof hearing aids to withstand while in a swimming pool. Some people want to hear the natural sound of water sloshing when they swim or they want to carry on the conversation in a pool party. Up until now, we’re not allowed to have hearing aids in the pool because water will short break the circuits in the hearing aids.

MSNBC has an article about swim-proof hearing aids. Hopefully, this will help the athletes too.
